Samsung released another update this month, this time the Korean based company picked the Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8262 phone to be installed with XXAMG5 Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). This update is expected to be spread worldwide, but currently it's available for South Africa.
Samsung Galaxy Core GT-I8262 was released few months ago came with the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed, and the XXAMG5 comes with more improvements and features to enjoy. Thus it's recommended for anyone to update their current mobile software to the same right now.
If you want to update to the XXAMG5 firmware you can check for the available update via your phone by going to Settings-> About-> Software Update (Android OTA update) or utilizing the Samsung KIES by simply connecting your phone to your computer.
If in rare case you don't get the update neither via OTA update or KIES utility, you can follow the manual instructions on this post at the end XXAMG5 will be running on your Galaxy Core GT-I8262 phone. But please read the following first before performing.
- Backup your Android data.
- XXAMG5 for Galaxy Core GT-I8262 phone only.
- Your root access will be wiped out.
- Perform at your own risk.

Steps to install XXAMG5 Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) On Galaxy Core I8262 Officially
Step 1) Now please download the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean XXAMG5 (South Africa) for your Galaxy Core I8262 then extract the file. You will find a .tar extension file within.
Step 2) Now download Odin 3.07, again extract it to use in installing the update ( v3.07.exe).
Step 3) Now power off your Galaxy Tab.
Step 4) Shut down your device to enter the download mode, to do so please press these buttons: Volume Down + Home + Power, keep holding them till you see a warning screen, then press the Volume Up for entering the mode.
Step 5) Launch Odin v3.07 using Administrator role (right click on the icon then choose Run as administrator).
Step 6) Now plug your Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 T310 to your computer using the existing USB cable of yours. Once it's connected, a message says Added!! will appear and the COM port along with Yellow number, means your device is connected to the PC.
Step 7) Choose the files you previously extracted on the step 1 by click on it.
Step 8) Be sure that you have checked these Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes from Odin (if they are already checked then you shouldn't check them again).
- Click on ‘PDA’ then choose file with ‘CODE’ the name.
- Click on ‘Phone’ then choose file with ‘MODEM’ in its name. If the file doesn't exist, ignore this step.
- Click on ‘CSC’ then choose file with CSC’ in its name. If this file doesn't exist, ignore this step.
- Click on ‘PIT’ then choose file with .pit file.However if this file doesn't exist, then ignore this one.
Step 9) If everything is settled then you can now start installing the update by hitting the Start button.
Step 10) Wait until the installing process is entirely finished, when it is then you will see your device will boot automatically then PASS message will appear along with green background in ODIN -- see the top left side of Odin. You can now unplug your tablet from your PC now.
